Rapid Prototyping in Emergent Media
BCM112 Assessment 1
In BCM112 we are creating new digital artefacts utilising our new skills in both physical and digital media creation. Specifically, I’ve chosen to experiment in the maker studio and learn more about laser cutting and 3D printing. As well as taking interest in AI programs and media, such as ChatGTP and mid journey.

Learning 3D printing can be beneficial in many ways. First, it allows individuals to turn their digital designs into physical objects, enabling them to bring their creative ideas to life. This can be especially helpful for professionals such as architects, engineers, and designers who need to create prototypes or models. Moreover, 3D printing technology is rapidly advancing and becoming more accessible, making it easier for people to create customised products and parts on demand. This can lead to cost savings, time savings, and improved efficiency in manufacturing and product development. Learning 3D printing can also be a valuable skill for personal use, such as creating unique and personalised gifts or home decor items. It is a fun and rewarding hobby that can inspire creativity and problem-solving skills.

Discord Project Updates:
In the first few weeks of BCM112, we’ve formed groups to create our next DA’S. Our group’s objective is going to consist of us creating 3D prints of character figurines, these characters will be based off of a story that we create on ChatGTP, therefore we will be smashing out two digital/physical media criteria for the next assessment.
Here’s our group project plan and pitch for you to have a look at, we’re very excited to get started on the project.
